Location The world`s oceans, AIDA cruises
Interior Architect Partner Ship Design, Hamburg, Germany Shipyard Meyer Werft, Papenburg, Germany
Idea & Conception The initial idea was to move beyond the concept of a holiday at sea in the form of a classical cruise with all the traditions and conventions this entailed. The aim was to use the first seagoing “club resort” of its kind to stage holiday trips which were both active and casual, something which was completely new on the cruise market. The success which this form of holiday was to enjoy began in 1996 with the ship now known as the AIDA cara and has since proved unstoppable. The fleet already comprises five cruise ships: AIDAcara, AIDAvita, AIDAaura, AIDAdiva and AIDAbella.
