Klafs steam bath D12 nominated for the German Design Award 2012
According to the STAR AWARD in Gold from TopHotel, the iF Product Design Award and the Golden Wave of Swimming Pool & Sauna, Klafs steam bath D12 has now been nominated for the German Design Award 2012.
The Glass Steam Bath D12 integrates harmoniously into any environment. The modular wall structure in aluminium and glass epitomises the innovative concept consisting of a light, highly stable aluminium framework construction and heat-insulated glass elements. This implicates increased stability, reduced energy consumption, an elegant design and reliable quality through high-end, sustainable materials. The modular construction method permits individual adaptation of size and seating arrangements.
Innovative steam bath D12 from KLAFS wins TOP HOTEL STAR AWARD 2010
In 2008, the renowned magazine of the Freizeit-Verlag, created the Top Hotel Star Award to honour the outstanding achievements of the hotel supply industry.
This year, the steam bath D12 from KLAFS was awarded the Star Award in GOLD in the "Hardware" category. This category includes new and creative products which help to provide guests with a real added value. Not to forget the optimisation of work processes and, therefore, the added freedom for hotel staff. The market entrance is proceeded by a complex and creative process, which combines practical experience with current technical trends as well as emergent needs.
KLAFS steam bath D12 wins iF product design award 2011
All in all, 2,756 products from 1,121 participants from 43 countries competed against each other for the renowned iF product design award. The steam bath D12 from KLAFS prevailed in a highly qualified and internationally competitive surrounding.
Within the categories Bathroom and Wellness, the steam bath D12 was the clear winner: The first to create a seamless transition between wellness area and living space.
Sauna PURE
Nominated for the German design award 2011
Shortly after receiving the if design award 2010 in Gold, the Sauna PURE caught the interested of the design specialists once again. The German Design Council nominated the PURE for the German Design Award 2011.
The design prize is awarded by the Federal Ministery for Economy and Technology. In 1969, top international product designs were honoured for the first time with the prize known as the »Bundespreis Gute Form« (Federal Good Form Award). Since 2006, the renamed »Designpreis der Bundesrepublik Deutschland« (Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany) is annually presented to outstanding performances in product and communication design as well as to design personalities.
The new Sauna Pure from KLAFS wins iF product design award
Only recently launched but already award winning: PURE, the new sauna by KLAFS, has been honoured with the iF product design award 2010. This makes it a benchmark for precision and form, with a consistency in material and quality that never fails to impress. The world market leader was honoured with the award by an international jury for its true-to-form newly conceptualised sauna. It was chosen from almost 2,500 products within the context of the recognised international contest in the “Bathroom and Wellness” category.

Alongside the elegant pure white version, the sauna exterior can be adapted to individual design preferences. The manufacturer’s many years of experience and the quality of the product manifests itself in every minute detail of PURE. The precise workmanship of the interior cladding of this model bears testimony to this and is rounded off with the accurately worked rods. The interior, too, has much to offer: The control unit can connect with and regulate twelve wellness facilities, including saunas, SANARIUM® and steam baths. Added to this are the password protection, connection to the building facility system, service interface, a line-in for MP3 and individual sauna and spa programmes. All designed to provide customer satisfaction. VENTANO wins reddot design award 2008
The sauna creation VENTANO was honoured with the renowned international design prize reddot design award in 2008. The VENTANO is the second KLAFS sauna to receive the coveted design trophy.

KLAFS KLIMA-MANAGER wins Star Award 2008
The KLIMA-MANAGER from KLAFS is awarded the Star Award in Silver in the category energy management.
Not only Top Hotel sees this as an intelligent measure for saving money and energy:
a person breaths 12 times per minute on average. The sauna, in particular, should provide enough fresh air. For an average sauna session of about 15 minutes length, we quickly reach 180 breaths per person! Now you have an idea of what the air in your sauna is exposed to. A sauna needs to breathe as well so as to ensure sufficient fresh air for its visitors. Sufficient means not too little, but also not too much. Too much airing increases the energy costs. And this is where the KLAFS KLIMA-MANAGER enters the picture. A sophisticated sensory technology analyses the components of the air inside the sauna. Depending on the air quality, fresh air is added. This means that the air ventilation inside the sauna room works on demand. The sauna guests can enjoy their well-being and the operators the saved costs. By the way: the concluding report of the research project "Quality Management for Commercial Sauna and Hot Air Rooms" initiated by the German Sauna Association states that "a visitor number dependent ventilation system“ is "advantageous". European Spa Award for the snowparadise from KLAFS
The coveted European Spa Award 2006 in the category "Best Spa Equipment" was presented to the SNOWPARADISE from KLAFS. The award ceremony is at the height of the European Spa Exhibition, which brings thousands of visitors from all over the world to Monaco. An international jury judges products within nine categories.
The SNOWPARADISE convinced the top international spa and wellness juries with its innovative and at the same time unified concept. The SNOWPARADISE with its natural, fine powder snow from pure water invites the visitor into a seemingly realistic glacial landscape. In this way, the prickly-pleasant cooling off at -10 °C in between two sauna sessions is transformed into a healthy highlight for commercial sauna and spa areas.
PROTEO honoured with reddot design award 2005
With the KLAFS design sauna PROTEO, it is the first time that a sauna received the objective quality seal red dot design award.
The adaptable design sauna PROTEO for the private sauna installation impresses with its clear, reduced design language, fine workmanship and high-quality materials. The modular combination possibilities of the high quality design elements permit a game without limits. The sidewalls, in a choice of zebrano veneer, aspen, hemlock or bronze-coloured mirrors in warm tones emphasise the high-quality overall appearance. The design of the interior room of the PROTEO is also outstanding. Especially wide, curved sun beds allow the user to recline in comfort. This position affords a perfect view of the stove, the heart of any sauna. The stove corner is clad in wall high natural stone to match the Majus designer oven. Different design touches such as sandstone, Indian slate or travertin, according to personal preference, perfectly round off the overall ambience of the interior room.
