The company was founded by Erich Klafs in Stettin in 1928 and re-established in Schwäbisch Hall, Germany, in 1945. The initial focus was on medical bathing facilities, the first hospital equipment being installed in 1952. The invention and distribution of the first modular sauna brought the company solid growth throughout the next few decades. Sales branches were set up across the country and subsidiaries were founded in the wellness strongholds of Austria and Switzerland.
