2009: a fascinating fairy-tale world extending over 180,000 m² and fulfilling every single holiday requirement of every single visitor has been established in the Turkish region of Lara, near to Antalya. The early summer of 2009 will see the opening of the magnificent Mardan Palace, a new luxury-class hotel. The highest degree of comfort the hotel offers, an impressive spa area and fantastic views over the Mediterranean will all combine to make a stay at the Mardan Palace a journey into a world of brightly shimmering dreams. KLAFS acted as the leading manufacturer for the hotel’s luxurious 7,500 m² healthy spa and beauty facilities, operating in close conjunction and expert partnership with the interior designer Zeynep Fadıllıoğlu on the specialist planning of a project which was developed and constructed over a period of three years and which was implemented in accordance with the highest standards and using the most exquisite of materials. KLAFS provided professional support to the architects responsible for the project by assisting in the planning process and in the selection of the highquality products for the spa. Rolf Glantz, Head of Architecture and Design at KLAFS, recalls the exciting development phase of this extensive and exclusive project. “This project provided us with a further opportunity to use our specialist planning expertise to support a unique construction project and make a major contribution to these fantastic facilities.” The outstanding result is that every single KLAFS product highlight and all the exclusive optional fittings the company offers are available in the high-quality environment of the treatment and relaxation areas frequented by those seeking relaxation in the Mardan Spa sauna landscape. More than 20 different KLAFS cabins, including prize winning models, have also been installed at the location. The Mardan Spa has been divided up into three areas. The generously proportioned reception area is decorated in opalescent blue mosaic and features a counter providing access to the public area free of charge for hotel guests. This leads into a large sauna landscape with a hamam, a Finnish sauna, a soothing Sanarium, a traditional banja, a restful salt or aroma steam bath, an oriental steam bath and caldarium and a meditative relaxation area featuring a fireplace. The design used in this area has been inspired by elegant motifs typical of the region. Guests are also able to enjoy the stimulating properties of real snow in two snow cabins. The sauna landscape adjoins a whirlpool area which is set out in the form of a series of terraces and indeed takes its inspiration from the limestone terraces of Pamukkale. The treatment area, which needs to be booked separately, offers guests its own generously proportioned sauna and spa landscape and a wide choice of individual services, including a massage and beauty area, thalassotherapy treatment and the Medical Spa. The whirlpool area also has a centrally located vitamin bar and a thalassotherapy tub with an outdoor pool, both ideal places to enjoy spending time. A 35 metre pool is also on hand for sporting refreshment. A fantastically designed curtain provides an optical separation between the swimming pool and the entrance to the third and most luxurious zone in the form of a veil of water which opens up at the end of the colonnades. Stepping stones then rise from the water to provide access to the VIP area exclusively reserved for the use of the owner and his guests. This private spa area features two differently equipped spa suites and a sauna and spa landscape which has been designed using a plethora of ornaments and decorative elements inspired by Moorish architecture. Ornamental carpets in natural stone mosaic and gilded cupolas, pilasters and pillar bases bear testimony to the exclusivity and luxury of the facilities. The majestic hotel has 560 rooms and suites of astonishing beauty which feature such well-known Turkish emblems as high-quality wooden floors, velvet covered furniture, oriental tapestries and luxurious marble baths with gilded taps all combining to create a harmonious overall impression. This fairy-tale palace will be open for business from 1 June 2009, a date which will also represent the beginning of heavenly relaxation for all the sense and provide the prospect of a whole host of long-lasting and magical memories.
