The Finnish people have traditionally taken infants into the sauna. Children as well experience improved circulation, strengthened cardiovascular systems and active bodily defenses as a result of the alternating stimulation. "Sauna kids" are much less often affected by respiratory colds and other infectious diseases such as bronchitis, asthma and flu. On the other hand, the sauna also helps prevent loss of concentration, nervousness, insomnia and aggressive behaviour. The influence of heat and cold on the autonomic nervous system relaxes the entire body/mind organism. A side effect is the unobtrusive training in personal hyiene. The child must go along because he or she wants to. |
