Awards

It's nice when expert judges are enthusiastic. More beautiful when our customers are.

We are proud to announce another award! Two first-class KLAFS saunas are the winners in the "Bath and Wellness" category of the German Design Award 2024.
The sauna S11. Design by Studio F. A. Porsche with its unique, timeless design and innovative light and sound concept has won over the experts for the third time this year. And the elegant S1 SAUNA Black Edition with its space-saving zoom principle and innovative solutions for sustainable saunas also completely impressed the jury and was awarded "GOLD". Many thanks to our partners - Studio F. A. Porsche and the team at Henssler und Schultheiss for their great collaboration in developing these unique sauna experiences.

The German Design Award is the renowned, international premium award of the German Design Council and has been honoring top-class submissions from product and communication design since 2012, all of which are groundbreaking in their own way in the international design landscape.

Our sauna S11. Design by Studio F. A. Porsche has once again been honoured and received the coveted Archiproducts Design Award! Every year, this design prize honours outstanding product designs worldwide that perfectly reflect the synergy between creativity and innovation. The S11 sauna combines exactly that: a holistic wellness concept that takes the bather on a sensory journey of warmth, light, colour and sound and thus has a particularly deeply relaxing effect on body and mind. "Together with Studio F. A. Porsche, we have put an enormous amount of dedication, innovative spirit and attention to detail into the S11 sauna. The award is a confirmation of our passion and commitment to outstanding quality, innovation and user-orientated design," says Phillip Rock, CEO KLAFS.

We can be pleased about another PLUS X AWARD. The new Sauna S11 convinced the jury in no less than six categories of the renowned seal of quality - and was thus able to secure the coveted special title of "Best Product of the Year". "The design of the S11 sauna is a masterpiece," the experts' statement said. Every element of the iconic sauna - from the carefully selected materials to the purist, timeless design language to the innovative light and sound concept - is fine-tuned to create a unique experience and complete deep relaxation. We created the S11 sauna with a great deal of dedication together with our partner Studio F. A. Porsche - we are very proud of the result and are delighted to have received this award from the PLUS X AWARD jury.

Our claim to innovative sauna and wellness solutions, exceptional design and durable quality has paid off once again! Because the KLAFS SANARIUM® heater MAJUS was awarded the PLUS X AWARD, one of the world's most renowned innovation prizes! In no less than five categories - innovation, high quality, design, functionality and ease of use - the new personal infusion master for the sauna at home convinced the experts. With the multifunctional infusion and frond system, KLAFS is the first manufacturer in the industry to offer a technical innovation that combines automatic infusion comfort with highly perfected air frond. The combination of aesthetic design, high ease of use and outstanding functionality has resulted in a product that, according to the jury, "raises the sauna experience to a new level".

With the new ESPURO® foam steam bath, KLAFS has once again proven that a passion for innovation – or the Swabian inventive spirit – can give rise to innovations that blend relaxation, body care and fun. The combination of relaxing sounds, fascinating colour light changes, soothing steam and fragrant foam creates an experience for all the senses. The specially developed foam consists of natural ingredients of plant origin, does not collapse and is particularly nourishing for the heated skin. The revolutionary and patented bath form has also convinced internationally renowned design experts: the ESPURO® foam steam bath received the "Special Mention" award at the German Design Award 2023 – a seal of quality for special product and design developments.

Together with the world leading sauna manufacturer KLALFS, and the celebrated designer Gesa Hansen, an extraordinary sauna has been created. The finished design is a masterpiece of natural contrasts, and a new interpretation of the Finnish sauna that does not lose its connection to tradition. It brings the highest quality of craftsmanship, whilst meeting the invigorating and impressive design of the German-Danish designer.

With the use of Japanese Yakisugi wood brings a retreat of balance. The black and white colour scheme is extraordinarily contrasting for a sauna, everything is found in an overall design that is at peace with itself. The jury of the Red Dot Award agreed the sophisticated design and concept of the GESA sauna by Gesa Hansen makes it a cosy retreat thanks to a choice of materials that give it sensory appeal and creates eye-catching contrasts. Gesa Hansen is a proud winner in the category of Product Design for KLAFS.

KLAFS has been awarded as a “Brand of the Century” for the third time in a row.

“We’re delighted to be one of the Brands of the Century. That’s a great success for the whole KLAFS team! Numerous “brands for life” can again be found in the illustrated book. Which also explains why we are so proud of this award. Because not only is KLAFS a brand for life, but a sauna from KLAFS is also a decision for life,” summarises the KLAFS management.

The world leader on the sauna market thus once again makes it into the renowned illustrated book of the ZEIT publishing group “German Standards – Brands of the Century 2022”, which presents almost 200 outstanding brands. Following the awards in 2016 and 2019, KLAFS lines up in 2022 alongside other successful companies in the famous brand book as a strong leading brand for this third time.

The German Institute for Product and Market Evaluation is conducting a customer satisfaction survey exclusively for the Plus X Award. From this survey, KLAFS emerged as the winner in the sauna category this year.

KLAFS has won the German Brand Award for the third time. This year, the market leader for saunas, pools and spas is awarded gold. The coveted seal is awarded by the German Design Council (Rat für Formgebung) and the German Brand Institute to pioneering brands.

The special aspect of this award: An expert committee of the German Design Council decides on admission into the competition. This process ensures the independence and excellence of the award. An independent jury made up of brand experts from a range of disciplines then chooses the winners of the German Brand Award. And this jury justifies this year’s gold award to KLAFS with the following words, among others: „KLAFS has positioned itself in the market as a global premium supplier of unique and award-winning product innovations – the result of decades of consistent and successful brand work that has never stood still and has constantly recharged itself. The new brand identity, whose emotional imagery is touching without being obtrusive, is once again convincing in terms of form and content at a high level, sharpening the positioning of KLAFS as a premium brand and thus further differentiating it from the competition.“.

The many practical advantages of the EASY Sauna combined with its modern and urban design convinced the jury of the German Design Award: "The sauna for private use convinces with a clear cubic shape, which fits into many living environments and becomes an exclusive lifestyle object there. The fact that the walls can be customised from the outside with designs makes it even easier to integrate the sauna into a private interior”.

Why should you actually lie on wood in a sauna? This question was taken on by KLAFS developers who have now been researching sauna cushions and mats in the design of the MOLLIS textile series for nearly two years, which not only make the sauna visually more homey, but also perform functionally under sauna conditions. This means: Comfortable, easy to handle, non-slip, but also so airy that moisture or even bacteria don’t stand a chance. This also convinced the jurors of the Plus X Award – and earned MOLLIS the covered attribute of the "Best Product of the Year”.

The Plus X Award is considered by experts to be the world's biggest innovation award for technology, sports and lifestyle. The jury has again awarded the brands of the year – and the Schwäbisch Hall world market leader KLAFS is among the winners in the “Wellness” category.

But KLAFS is also back on the podium in the "Best Product" category with a notable innovation: The special award “Best Product of the Year” went to KLAFS in 2019 for the innovative MOLLIS sauna cushions and mats.

Published by ZEIT Verlag, “Brands of the Century” provides an impressive compendium of the major brand names of our time, as well as looking at their history. It is a source of immense pride for us that this “who’s who of the greats” once again contains an entry about our company in 2018.

Following its success at the first German Brand Award, KLAFS was once again among the winners in 2018. The German Design Council, initiated by the German Bundestag over 60 years ago and well-known as the organiser of the prestigious German Design Award, presents this prize to pioneering brands and brand builders – and, in doing so, underlines the importance of brand management as a key factor in a company’s success. In 2018, KLAFS secured the much sought-after seal of quality in the category “Industry Excellence in Branding – Heating & Bathroom”.

The special thing about this award is that the competition is only open to companies nominated by an expert board consisting of representatives of industry, academia, agencies and the media for outstanding achievements in relation to brand strategy and brand management. An independent jury made up of brand experts from a range of disciplines then chooses the winners of the German Brand Award. It is thanks to brand values that KLAFS was able to rise to the position of a market leader and driver of innovation in the sauna, pool and spa sector. Originally a small family company, it has been creating spaces for physical and mental relaxation since 1928. In order to continue underpinning its reputation as a trendsetter in the sauna, pool and spa sector, the company invests a great deal in the development of new products and applications. One prime example is the S1 sauna, which is the first sauna in the world to pack into a tiny space at the touch of a button – just like a zoom lens on a camera. When retracted, the S1 sauna has a depth of just 60 centimetres and is therefore no deeper than a standard wardrobe.

It’s an excellent idea that is also making waves in the specialist world: in just a few years, this “sauna of the future” has also already won numerous important awards, such as the German Design Award, the iF DESIGN AWARD and the Red Dot Design Award.

KLAFS has put a great deal of development work into its MOLLIS sauna cushions and mats. It was essential for these textiles to offer not only comfort but also practicality in sauna conditions in equal measure. This balancing act has ultimately proved a success – and the effort has paid off.

The range has not only generated keen interest among sauna aficionados, but also met with the approval of the jurors at the world’s largest innovation awards for technology and lifestyle. At the prestigious Plus X Award ceremony, MOLLIS cleaned up in no fewer than four categories: Innovation, High Quality, Design and Functionality. Our range of textiles is therefore not only incredibly comfortable but now also award-winningly soft.

In expert circles, the Plus X Award is seen as the greatest innovation prize for technology, sports and lifestyle in the world. This year the jury also awarded a prize for “Brands of the Year” for the first time – and the KLAFS brand is part of the illustrious winners' circle. For this new prize, the experts in the jury took into account all brands that have already won the Plus X Award. In each product category, however, the jury only awarded the "Brand of the Year 2017" to one brand. In the sauna category, KLAFS made it all the way to the top –  it has already received multiple awards at the Plus X Award for its future-oriented, innovative products. With its innovations KLAFS even won the coveted special "Best Product of the Year" twice: with its revolutionary, space-saving S1 zoom sauna in 2015 and with its compact SaltProX dry salt inhalation device this year.

With the light, handy and battery-operated device SaltProX KLAFS has managed to make the unique and patented Microsalt dry salt inhalation technology easily available and affordable. This is why this world debut has been awarded in four categories at the Plus X Award, accurately to the product launch in last autumn. Now the jury of this renowned award, which is called by experts the world’s largest innovation award for technology, sports and lifestyle, has awarded this latest innovation by the market leader for sauna, pool and spa once again – as „Best Product 2017“.

The S1 from KLAFS is and remains the outstanding sauna innovation of our time. The renowned pool and wellness experts who are chosen for the jury of the innovation award “Golden Wave” ranked her first in the category “sauna/steam bath/infrared”. This is already the eighth major award for the revolutionary, room-saving sauna S1. For example, the zoom sauna from KLAFS has been awarded at the German Design Award, the iF DESIGN AWARD and the Red Dot Design Award, to name but a few.

The award “Golden Wave” is given for outstanding products, technologies and procedures in a total of eight categories. It is donated by the magazine SCHWIMMBAD+SAUNA, Germany’s leading pool and wellness magazine, which is on the market since 1968. The jury gives clear priority to the practical significance of the innovations when it comes to the decisions.

This is sharply illustrated by the explanatory of the jury for the victory of the S1: “Is it possible to re-invent the sauna? Not the sauna itself, but its integration and adjustment to the modern lifestyle. KLAFS has demonstrated this impressively with the S1.”

Using patented Microsalt Technology, we have ensured broad utilisation of the positive effects of dry salt on the basis of new scientific findings. This innovation received the European Health und Spa Award 2014 as the “Best Spa Product Innovation Technique”.

With the new SaltProX, we have now managed to make this unique and patented Technology easily available and affordable for private households. And this excites the experts once more: The jury of the renowned „Plus X Award“, which is called by experts the world’s largest innovation award for technology, sports and lifestyle, has awarded the world premiere from KLAFS in four categories for its clear additional benefits: Innovation, High Quality, Ease of Use and Functionality.

The German Design Council, preceded more than 60 years ago by a resolution of the German Bundestag and well-known as the organizer of the renowned German Design Award, has created this award in order to award pioneering brands and brand-builders. This underlines the importance of strategic brand management as a decisive factor for the success of companies. KLAFS secured the coveted seal of approval in the category „Industry Excellence in Branding – Heating & Bathroom“.

The outstanding series of victories of the revolutionary, room-saving sauna S1 continues: The 41 experts from all around the world, who are chosen for the jury of the Red Dot Award: Product Design this year, are also convinced that the sauna of the future set itself apart considerably through its excellent design.

So the S1 was awarded with the Red Dot, the international distinction for high design quality.Participants from 57 nations had registered about 5,200 products and innovations for this award. Only freelance designers, design professors and specialised journalists – but not designers employed at companies potentially participating – are appointed to the jury. The independent expert panel assesses each entry according to criteria such as degree of innovation, formal quality, functionality and ecological compatibility.

Professor Dr. Peter Zec, founder and president of the Red Dot Award, says: “With their performances, the Red Dot winners not only demonstrated an extraordinary design quality, but they also showed that design is an integral part of innovative product solutions.”

The Red Dot Award is organised by the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen in Essen, Germany. With more than 17,000 entries in 2015 alone, it is one of the largest competitions in the world. It was in 1955 that a jury convened for the first time to assess the best designs of the day. The name and brand of the award were developed in the 1990s by Red Dot CEO, Professor Dr. Peter Zec. Since then the sought-after “Red Dot” is the revered international seal of outstanding design quality.

Good product design is not only characterized by timeless beauty but, above all, by clear functional benefits. The steam bath D6 von KLAFS is an ideal example for this. And this is the reason why it has won a great award: The five renowned experts from the wellness, spa and beauty branch in the jury of the Wellness & Spa Innovation Award 2016 selected the D6 to be the winner of the category „Hotel & Spa Interior“.

And here is the statement of the jury: „Steam baths (…) are undoubtedly useful for health and well-being. With its new steam bath KLAFS succeeded not only in delivering a lot of variety in terms of interior design, but also in overcoming typical weak points in the construction of steam baths in an really innovative manner“.

This international award has been founded in 2012 by the German Wellness Association and is presented in line with the trade fair BEAUTY in Duesseldorf each year. In this year there have been applications from Germany, Austria, France, Italy, Switzerland and the United States of America. The goal of the award is to honour innovative ideas in the wellness and spa sector that are already successful on the market.

The completely new sauna concept from KLAFS undergoes a thorough inspection by the jury of the long-established and renowned iF DESIGN AWARD 2016 – and these experts have also been excited. So the sauna S1 is the winner of the iF DESIGN AWARD 2016 in the discipline „product“, category „bathroom“. The number of competitors was huge: the international high-profile jury assessed more than 5,000 entries from 53 countries in order to determine who would receive this coveted seal of excellence.

It is already the fifth major victory within some weeks for the KLAFS sauna S1, which has been presented in a well-received world premiere a few months ago. After its big success at the renowned “Plus X Award”, where the jury has awarded the world premiere from KLAFS in five categories for its clear additional benefits and in addition bestow the title "Best product 2015/2016" in its product category to the sauna of the future, the S1 has also bestow the eligible award “Special Mention” at the German Design Award 2016. The huge potential of this sauna of the future for the hotel branch has also been recognized by the jury of the Intergastra Innovationspreis 2016. This is why the jury, which is made up of renowned experts from science and industry associations, selected the sauna innovation of the year as the winner of the category „Object- and Facility Management“. And since a few weeks the S1 is also allowed to bear the prestigious mark „The Blue Angel“ for protecting the environment.

The revolutionary, room-saving sauna S1 is further making history. After its big success at the renowned “Plus X Award”, where the jury has awarded the world premiere from KLAFS in five categories for its clear additional benefits and in addition bestow the title "Best product 2015/2016" in its product category to the sauna of the future, the S1 has also excited the jury of the German Design Award 2016.

The German Design Award has been founded in 2012. It is one of the most recognized design awards worldwide and is highly respected not only among experts. His goal: to discover, present and reward unique design trends. Therefore, high-caliber submissions from the product and communication design area will be awarded annually, all of which are leading the way in the international design scene in their own way.

The competition places high demands on the determination of its award winners: There is a unique nomination process, so that only those products and communication design services are invited to participate, which protrude through their proven design quality.

The experts' conclusion: “An incredibly innovative product, whereby the private sauna pleasure is possible even in small apartments – as simple as it is ingenious.” Therefore, the sauna of the future bestow the eligible award “Special Mention”. This award recognizes work whose design has particularly successful aspects or solutions.

The jury of the prestigious “Plus X Award” has awarded the world premiere from KLAFS in five categories for its clear additional benefits: Innovation, High Quality, Design, Ease of Use and Functionality. In addition the jury bestow the title "Best product 2015/2016" in its product category to the S1.

The jury of the renowned „Plus X Award“, which is called by experts the world’s largest innovation award for technology, sports and lifestyle, has awarded the world premiere from KLAFS in five categories for its clear additional benefits: Innovation, High Quality, Design, Ease of Use and Functionality.

The jury of the prestigious “Plus X Award” conferred awards on the Matteo Thun Edition sauna by KLAFS in no fewer than three categories : high quality, design, and ease of use. Not only did this reaffirm KLAFS’ reputation as market leader in the field of saunas, pools and spas, but it was additional proof of the fact that KLAFS is the foremost engine of innovation in the industry, repeatedly setting new standards for saunas and spas.

With an independent, international panel of experts from 27 industries, 23 competent and strategic partners, and submissions from more than 600 international brands, the “Plus X Award” – presented in 2015 for the 12th time – is, according to the organisers, now the world’s largest innovation award for technology, sport and lifestyle.

KLAFS Matteo Thun Edition sauna, developed conjointly with the internationally renowned star architect Matteo Thun and his fellow designer par excellence, Antonio Rodriguez, was first presented to the public at the last Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan. In 2015, it won the Interior Innovation Award 2015.

Lots of wood, lots of glass and lots of privacy are the hallmarks of this lavish sauna, designed by Matteo Thun and Antonio Rodriguez. Ceiling-to-floor windows have been included on the front and side walls, opening the sauna and drawing in the light. Great attention has also been paid here to the indirect lighting, which is integrated into the edging of the invitingly broad benches, and is thus completely hidden from view. With its unique interplay of wooden trims and seams, the exterior of the sauna immediately strikes the eye. And it’s virtually impossible to peer into the sauna from the outside. Customers can choose between hemlock, oak or walnut wood. For Matteo Thun and Antonio Rodriguez, hiding the technology is a matter of principle. So here, the sauna heater has been placed discreetly underneath the bench. With no disrupting elements, the eye of the beholder can wander freely. The atmosphere thus created is one in which you can soak up the light and warmth, and relax deeply.

The Interior Innovation Award was first presented in 2002 by the imm cologne (International Interiors Show), together with the German Design Council. Today, it is regarded as one of the most prestigious design awards in the interior furnishings industry.

KLAFS MAJUS  sauna heater is very special. Thanks to its turboheat function, it can heat a standard family-sized sauna to 90°C in just 20 minutes – compared to the 60 minutes taken by a conventional sauna heater. This amazing speed is due to a turboheat flap which can be controlled individually and channels the heat from inside the heater straight out to warm the air inside the sauna cabin.

The MAJUS  sauna heater also combines innovative technology with bespoke design. An opinion shared by the jury of the Interior Innovation Award – who promptly voted in its favour"Selection". The Interior Innovation Award was first presented in 2002 by the imm cologne (International Interiors Show), together with the German Design Council. Today, it is regarded as one of the most prestigious design awards in the interior furnishings industry – on a global scale.

With its elegant design, the eVitarium® cuts a good figure in any bathroom or spa. At first glance, you can hardly tell it apart from a conventional bath. Not only can you fill the bath automatically, but you can also regulate the intensity of the electric current and the integrated coloured lights via the handy control panel. Technology and design go hand in hand here. Only the small, easy-to-use touch screen panel betrays the many functions hidden inside the eVitarium. Relaxation and energy in harmonious accord.

The panel of experts from the German Design Award 2015 was of the same opinion – and awarded the eVitarium® a "Special Mention". As a contest for the industry which underscores the outstanding design achievements of participants, the German Design Award enjoys a high level of public respect.

The European Health and Spa Award is awarded by the Agency for Health& Wellness. Assessed  by an independent panel of experts, the test criteria are amongst the most stringent in all Europe. The assessment is based on an extensive questionnaire plus a mystery check.

The European Health and Spa Awards are divided into ten different categories. KLAFS Microsalt came top in the Best Product Innovation Technique category.

The Red Dot Award is one of the largest and most prestigious awards in the world. A coveted hallmark of quality, it is conferred by an international panel of experts for products which stand out from the crowd by reason of outstanding quality of design.

The German Design Award is a top international award. It is given to top class products and projects from the fields of product & communication design, and also serves to distinguish outstanding or up-and-coming designers.

The CASENA designer sauna unites clear contours with a filigree ceiling structure. Cove lighting around the perimeter and myriads of miniature points of light in the ceiling bathe the cabin in warm, golden light. With no visible support, the benches appear to float in mid-air, creating a sensation of lightness and spaciousness inside the sauna.

The Plus X Award is given to innovative products from the worlds of technology, sport and lifestyle, and pays tribute to manufacturers for cutting edge quality.

The innovation: InfraPLUS incorporates healthful infrared radiation into an existing sauna, making a dedicated infrared cabin superfluous. Its SensoCare infrared heat technology not only uses a contact-free measuring technique to determine skin temperature, but is then able to adjust the intensity of the radiation automatically. InfraPLUS thus combines functionality and design with safe technology and all the health benefits of infrared radiation.

The Interior Innovation Award showcases innovative excellence in all product areas in the industry, thus acting as an effective instrument when positioning or differentiating between products in the furnishings market.

The basic idea behind the eVitarium® is nothing new; galvanic baths are an established part of alternative medicine. The positive effects of electric currents in water are undisputed, but in the past, the method has always been expensive and extremely complex. So KLAFS went back to the roots, refined the age-old principle, and developed a new solution. The result was a galvanic bath which is no larger than a conventional bath, and very simple to use.

Of the many products nominated for the European Health and Spa Award in the category “Best Product Innovation”, no fewer than two KLAFS products emerged victorious: our Cloud 9 by sha won first place, whilst our Infrarot Profi Oakstone came third.

Tribute was also paid to various KLAFS reference projects: in the category Best Hotel Spa, the Victoria Jungfrau Grand Hotel and Spa and the Wald & Schlosshotel Friedrichsruhe both received awards.

After winning the gold STAR AWARD from Top Hotel, the iF Product Design Award and the Golden Wave from Schwimmbad & Sauna, Klafs D12 steam bath was nominated for the German Design Award 2012.

The modular D12 steam bath blends harmoniously with any environment, thanks to the innovative design of its aluminium and glass wall modules. These feature lightweight yet sturdy aluminium frames around insulating glass elements, offering a high level of stability, reduced electricity costs, elegant design and top quality with bespoke yet environmentally friendly materials. Thanks to the modular design, the size and the seating arrangement inside the steam bath can be adapted to meet individual requirements.

In total, 2756 submissions from 1121 participants and 43 countries competed for the prestigious iF Product Design Award. KLAFS D12 steam bath prevailed in a highly qualified and internationally competitive surrounding.

The D12 steam bath emerged from the contest as a clear winner, being the first of its kind ever to create a fluent transition between the spa and living areas in the home.

The Top Hotel Star Award was launched in 2008 by the prestigious specialist journal of the same name, published by Landsberger Freizeit. The award pays tribute to outstanding performances in the hotel supplier industry.

This year, the D12 steam bath by KLAFS won GOLD in the hardware category of the Star Awards. In the hardware category, the focus is on new and highly innovative products which genuinely enhance life for hotel guests. At the same time, these innovations help to optimise work processes and free up staff capacities. Generally speaking, these products evolve out of a complex creative process. This process not only needs to account for empirical data and current trends, but also needs to keep an eye on emerging needs.

Shortly after winning gold in the 2010 iF Design Awards, the PURE sauna again caught the eye of the experts – this time it was nominated by the German Design Council for the 2011 German Design Award.

This award, conferred by the Federal Ministry for Economy and Technology, was first presented in 1969. Initially known as the “Federal Award for Good Design”, it was bestowed internationally for product designs of outstanding merit. Renamed in 2006 as the “Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany”, it is now conferred annually for excellency in product and communication design, as well as to outstanding designers.

Only recently launched, and already an award winner: the new PURE  sauna by KLAFS won gold in the 2010 iF product design awards, thus setting new standards for form and precision. With its consistency and bespoke quality, this sauna makes an impressive statement. An international panel of experts selected the global market leader’s completely revamped sauna design from amongst nearly 2500 qualified, international submissions, awarding it gold in the category “Bathroom & Health”.

In particular, they were impressed with the linear design of the interior with its delicate panelling in bespoke, finely crafted hemlock. The exterior of the  PURE  sauna is equally stunning, appearing with a fresh, trendy, white high-gloss finish. Like the VENTANO and PROTEO  saunas, it was developed by the renowned designer team Henssler & Schultheiss.

By combining the ancient tradition of sauna bathing with creative finesse and the merits of contemporary technology – like the innovative Touch Control panel – modern sauna-lovers can now indulge in a wonderfully relaxing spa experience in the comfort of their own home. It’s all about feeling good about yourself, strengthening your immune system – and, of course, quite simply enjoying the age-old sauna experience. With their PURE sauna, KLAFS have reinterpreted this ancient tradition, giving it a modern design which harmonises beautifully with all stylish homes. Besides the sophisticated pure white version, alternative exterior panelling is available to cater to individual preferences and tastes. Liberally sized, the glass corner entrance underscores the well-balanced design of the sauna, providing attractive glimpses of the interior and interesting views to the exterior.

In the PURE  sauna, the experience and quality of the manufacturer manifests itself in every single detail, such as the precise workmanship of the panelling, which runs continuously around the entire interior. Inside the sauna, the indirect lighting is complemented by LIFT LIGHTS, which create a pleasant, coloured light stimulus to help you relax even more deeply.

The jury was impressed with the understated elegance of the VENTANO sauna, which was nominated for the award. The exterior panelling in American walnut and the offset glass-fronted corner entrance emphasise the subtly unobtrusive design. Inside the sauna, clarity of form dominates, with the walls and ceiling panelled in hemlock,

showing off the MAJUS sauna heater to best advantage. Behind the benches, indirect SUNSET lighting creates a delightful atmosphere of well-being.

Sauna goers can stretch out and relax deeply on extra-wide, ergonomically shaped benches. And with the elegant innovation TOUCH CONTROL, the ultimate in comfort and convenience has now entered the spa world: a simple touch is all it takes to set in motion one of the specially developed feel-good programmes. The TOUCH CONTROL contains an abundance of exciting innovations. Sophisticated, ultra-slim design, straightforward to use, password protection, high-resolution, scratch-resistant touch screen, solid aluminium casing and numerous connections – including to your personal MP3 player.

In the efficiency category of the Star Awards, KLAFS TOUCH CONTROL came away with a silver medal.

As far as looks are concerned, the appeal of KLAFS TOUCH CONTROL Professional lies in its aesthetic, slim-line design, aluminium casing and scratch-resistant touch screen. And underneath this polished exterior, it’s equally impressive,  allowing you to control and administer up to twelve spa settings for your sauna, SANARIUM® or steam bath. Finishing touches include password protection, a connecting point for the central control system of the building, a service interface and a line-in for MP3 and individual sauna and spa settings, depending on customer requirements. KLAFS TOUCH CONTROL Professional enables you to plan and adjust all settings for spa areas in a simple, controlled manner – replacing the numerous job steps which were formerly necessary. This gives spa managers a reliable instrument which configures each facility individually on a daily basis. As a result, less maintenance is required, and energy is used highly efficiently. There’s even an output function which enables you to print out relevant statistics on energy accounting at any time. So you get it in writing: more reliability, fewer costs.

The larger the spa area, the greater the need for safety and control. Someone’s left their towel on the sauna heater in the Finnish sauna? The SANARIUM® door has been left wide open? Little acts of negligence like these can have unpleasant repercussions. At last we have the solution. KLAFS TOUCH CONTROL visually displays any risks immediately on the screen, and also sends a text message warning to your mobile phone – enabling you to react even if you aren’t sitting in front of your screen. You can rely on comprehensive service – around the clock. KLAFS TOUCH CONTROL Professional immediately displays any failures, and is suitable for sauna and spa facilities of all sizes. This means spa managers can keep an overview of the temperatures and conditions in all cabins – which simplifies planning, and gives you more ease of mind. It also helps cut costs for electricity, staff, resources and maintenance. Our services include installation and instruction by an experienced KLAFS professional. Once programmed, TOUCH CONTROL takes care of the facility almost by itself. Daily, weekly and yearly settings are clearly organised. It could hardly be simpler!

The Top Hotel Star Award was launched by the prestigious specialist journal of the same name, published by Landsberger Freizeit, to pay tribute to outstanding performances in the hotel supplier industry. “Without doubt, the human factor is important. But one must not lose sight of hardware either. Because without modern products, it would be impossible to run a hotel cost-efficiently in this modern world,” explains Thomas Karsch, deputy editor-in-chief, talking about the new Top Hotel initiative.

The VENTANO sauna won the prestigious international red dot design award in 2008. VENTANO was the second KLAFS sauna to receive this coveted design trophy.

The North Rhine Westphalian Design Centre has been conferring this famous award on an international scale since 1955 for outstanding designs. Manufacturers and designers can submit industrial products in a wide range of categories to be assessed for the red dot award. And the number of submissions increases each year...
