Home of FIFA

The ceremonial foundation stone for the new “Home of FIFA” headquarters was laid in the renowned Sonnenberg area of Zurich in May 2004, exactly 100 years after the Founding of the association, although it is officially located on the “soil of all member countries”. Enclosed within the foundation stone is a steel football 1.3 metres in diameter which is filled with countless small bags of earth, one from each of the association’s members.
