Pioneering design in private sauna construction: Klafs takes wellness seriously as a unity of body, soul and design and presents perfectly designed jewels of form, light and technology in an age where integrated design is demanded. The new Proteo, Charisma and Refugio models are current successful examples of wellness environments in the sauna. The Proteo – which was awarded the prestigious red dot design award in 2005 and has now been nominated for the German design prize – impresses with its clear, reduced design language, fine workmanship and high-quality materials. The sea god from Greek mythology with the power to change himself into any form was the inspiration for the new Proteo sauna design: The modular combination possibilities of the high quality design elements permit a game without limits. The sidewalls, in a choice of zebrano veneer, aspen, hemlock or bronze-coloured mirrors in warm tones emphasise the high-quality overall appearance. The glass sauna door and the wall-high window components blend perfectly with the salmon red or tasteful green and white translucent glass doors of the shelf cupboard built flush into the front facade. The design of the interior room is also outstanding. Especially wide, curved sun beds allow the user to recline in comfort. This position affords a perfect view of the stove, the heart of any sauna. The stove corner is clad in wall high natural stone to match the Majus designer oven. Different design touches such as sandstone, Indian slate or travertin, according to personal preference, perfectly round off the overall ambience of the interior room. The Charisma design sauna is completely faithful to the basic principle of integrated form “the whole is more than the sum of its parts“. The base shape, which is rounded on all sides, provides a harmonious sauna design and completes the wellness dimension of the sauna bath. The Charisma, which received the Spa Award 2005, the sought-after readers’ prize of Sauna Pool Ambiente magazine, represents the
successful joining of design and wellness. The Charisma satisfies the highest demands in terms of materials and form and can be built to satisfy almost any individual desire. Klafs’ designers have even built generous shelves into the outer paneling of the sauna. This means that damp-sensitive utensils can be packed away easily. Like the entire outer paneling, the built-in shelf and the bold protruding door area are made from finest quality cherry wood veneer. Featuring a decorative door handle, extra-wide glass door, chrome-plated fittings and side windows, soft forms dominate the perfectly executed design. Another attractive feature included by the sauna designers from Schwäbisch Hall is the sunroof of the sauna cabin. A light, built into the star-shaped central dome on request, brings the sun into the sauna: Soft light from above creates a cosy warm atmosphere in the cabin, resulting in a completely new room sensation. What sets the Charisma apart: The cooling down area is aesthetically integrated into the appearance of the entire layout of the sauna and an exclusively created shower area provides an exciting and refreshing experience between sauna rounds. A high-pressure nozzle, head nozzle, 6-head body nozzle and Kneipp hose offer numerous possibilities for cooling down. And whether the user needs shampoo for their hair, shower gel or a soft hand towel after their shower – everything is within easy reach in the practical compartments in the shower walls or on the elegantly curved hand towel rail. The Refugio design sauna offers sauna lovers a whole range of possibilities for all spaces. In addition to its high quality form and finish, the sauna can also be adapted to fit almost any space. Installing the Refugio sauna is never a problem - even in a cramped cellar, a child’s old room or under the pitch of a roof. Maple veneer panels have been used for the entire outer paneling of the sauna cabin. The Refugio design sauna is also available in other types of wood. Created for bathing pleasure in any home, the striking door handle and stylish corners of the sauna cabin form a characteristic visual focus. The rounded glass elements and wide glass door also provide more light inside and an unhindered view outside. A particularly practical feature that is available on request: A shelf built into the outer paneling for cosmetics, hand towels and other sauna utensils.
