The specialties of the sauna room or the inner life of the sauna.

The various sauna cabin are very similar to each other in many aspects. They always have two or three steps - not only to to provide as much space for people as possible, but also to offer two different temperature zones. The second bench has a temperature of around 60 °C, the third bench around 70 °C. At head height on the third bench one can measure around 90 °C. You can, therefore, experience different temperatures depending on which bench you sit or lie. The lowest of the three benches is mainly there for stepping up, because it is cooler and moister there. The wood benches are made of slats with gaps in between so that the air can circulate freely in the whole room. That is why the ventilation and exhaust air systems are located on ground level. The fresh air is fed past or through the sauna heater. Hot air rises completing the circulation. This means that each sauna must provide sufficient circulation by feeding in fresh air from outside and exporting used air from inside. The sauna warmth originates not only from the heater but also as irradiation heat from the walls, benches and ceiling. Here, it is essential that the sauna has a sufficient pre-heating phase (at least an hour before the sauna session), as the wood takes longer to heat up than the surrounding air.
