KLAFS – MY SAUNA UND SPA

sauna in summer

The summer offers a very special form of cooling off

The first step is a short stay in the open. The first step is a short stay in the open.  The best is, if you begin the cooling off with a short stay in the open. It feels good and walking in the open air enlivens the circulation. But more than this, fresh air also has a positive medical effect, says Prof. Dr. med. Eberhard Conradi from the German Sauna Association: "Not only is the body surface cooled off, but heat is also given off via the airways and in this way a complete and mild cooling off is encouraged."

Cooling off after the sauna. A nice surprise when the circulation gets going again under a KLAFS shower. After a short and sharp cooling down of the body with cold water, you can start relaxing. After this short initiation, the second part of the refreshment course for the senses can begin: The short and sharp cooling down of the body with cold water. Do note: To avoid this or to use lukewarm water does not have the desired effect. "This can be attributed to the switching off of the vegetative nervous system as well as the stimulation of the so called sensitivity centres in the basal areas of the central nervous system. After the warm-cold contrast, the vegetativum switches to the "trophotrope" phase, which is characterised by regeneration and relaxation processes and is accompanied by a balancing mood", explains Prof. Eberhard Conradi the medical reasons.

cooling down after the sauna session – for your health

A little bit of water does wonders for your body.

The cold water application after the sauna is one the best and cheapest wellness programmes that exist. In particular during the hot summer months, you should not leave out this enjoyment. Only if you visit the sauna all year round at least once a week, it regenerates the bodies strength perfectly: It has a lasting effect on the immune system, the body can adapt to the summer heat and the soul finds relaxation.

What form of cooling off you enjoy most is certainly a matter of taste - it is your choice.

Of course you can simply ask for a normal shower, but the flood shower is especially invigorating. The water shoots out of a single opening. A softer variation would be the Kneipp hose. Use the water jet to work your way up to the heart by starting with the arms and legs. If you like even more intensive cooling off, the plunge pool should do the trick. After a cold shower, you can dive into the cool blue water.
