The sun as a cost-free source of warmth for your sauna operation: with the KLAFS Solarsauna®
Thanks to our innovative measures, the energy consumption of the SOLARSAUNA® is nearly 70 % below that of conventional outdoor saunas. Beginning with the use of sun power and heat recovery, the use of the KLAFS KLIMA-MANAGERS all the way to the integrated wind catchment and the highly effective wall and ceiling insulation, which reduce the k value to about 0.22: Solar power is not only good for the environment. The soft warmth radiating off the sun soaked soapstone flags adds to the pleasant feeling and is a special form of basic warmth.
By the way: The recreational effect on your guests can be measured by way of temperature and humidity as well. For the SOLARSAUNA® it is comparable to the KLAFS SANARIUM®.
And finally, should the sun disappear behind dark clouds: A specially developed heating system ensures a sunny disposition even on cloudy days. Surely, this is a good reason for being content.
Explanation of k value: The thermal conductivity co-efficient, also known as k value, is the amount of heat flow, which is transported through 1 sq metre of building material at a temperature difference of 1 Kelvin. Unit: W/m2·K. To decide the heat requirement of a building, the k value is determined for various construction parts of the building and the proportional heat losses added. The smaller the k value, the lower the heat loss. The k value figure depends on the building materials and their conductivity, the thickness of the construction elements and of the heat transition between various building materials.
