CIRCOTHERM sauna ventilation system

CIRCOTHERM Sauna Ventilation System

The customisable CIRCOTHERM ventilation system ensures sufficient air exchange to ensure you're not left breathless by your KLAFS sauna experience. Via a wooden knob, the draught-free air flow can be conveniently controlled in three stages from the sauna interior. Scientific studies have proven the importance of ensuring a constant supply of fresh oxygen is, especially when the sauna gets really hot. Since CIRCOTHERM closes the exhaust air outlet during the heating phase, no energy is lost.

The sauna ventilation creates the basis for a good climate in the sauna. The cooled, stale air in the sauna sinks downwards and is undesirable, which is why the exhaust air extractor for the ventilation system is installed in the lower part of the cabin. The fresh air, in turn, is led directly to or into the heater from the outside, where it is heated. The heated air rises and the circulation becomes complete. Every sauna cabin should ensure adequate air circulation by allowing sufficient air to flow in from the outside and then extracting it – a task that is optimally mastered by the KLAFS CIRCOTHERM ventilation system.

With the GREEN SAUNA package, KLAFS presents an extremely efficient form of energy management. It takes effect precisely where the greatest loss of heat and thus energy occurs: during ventilation and heat transmission via the ceiling. This is because the greatest energy loss, at 75 %, is caused by ventilation and transmission. With the KLAFS CLIMATE MANAGER and the EcoPlus thermal ceiling, energy savings of up to 35 % are possible. The EcoPlus thermal ceiling ensures the heat stays in the cabin for much longer and the KLAFS CLIMATE MANAGER also regulates the fresh air supply via a fan to the quantity that is actually required.

We wouldn't be KLAFS if we weren't constantly working to offer you and our environment ever better prospects. Our development department makes a major contribution to this. In response to the high heat and energy loss via the typical sauna ceiling, our experts have developed the EcoPlus thermal ceiling. A sophisticated design at the most sensitive points in the sauna ensures that heat loss via the sauna ceiling is drastically reduced.

THE KLAFS CLIMATE MANAGER

People breathe 12 times a minute on average. Fresh air is therefore essential, especially in the sauna. During a sauna session of fifteen minutes we take around 180 breaths. Your sauna must also breathe so that it can provide your guests with sufficient fresh air. The key word here is "sufficient", which means not too little and – above all – not too much. Too much ventilation also means excessive energy costs. This is where the KLAFS CLIMATE MANAGER intervenes on your behalf. Its sophisticated sensor technology analyses the components of the sauna air. Fresh air is then supplied depending on the air quality, i.e. the number of air changes for the sauna room is adjusted to the actual demand.

By the way: In the final report of the research project "Quality assurance of commercially used sauna and hot-air rooms" initiated by the German Sauna Federation, the concept of "ventilation that is dependent on the number of persons" is described as "advantageous". Because a good mood needs good air.

A CLEVER IDEA: THE HEAT EXCHANGER

We have drawn on the full extent of our expertise to develop the ideal heat exchanger for swimming pools with corrosive exhaust air and temperatures up to 90°C. The principle on which it works is as simple as it is obvious. The hot temperatures of the exhaust air are used to heat the incoming fresh air before it enters the sauna cabin. In an antechamber, the exhaust air flows through the finest capillaries, which resemble a miniature heating system. The oxygen-rich fresh air is sent through this antechamber. So you see, our heat is so important to us that we don't waste a single degree of it. And you can also save money with this clever heat exchanger.
