A great love of winter sports
Miriam and Felix Neureuther are among Germany's most successful winter sports athletes. Felix won numerous World Cup races as a ski racer and won a world championship title in slalom with his team. Miriam celebrated international successes in biathlon and cross-country skiing, including Olympic silver and several World Championship medals. "Skiing was our life for a long time, our first great love, so to speak," says Felix, summing up their shared passion.
From professional athletes to devoted parents, Felix and Miriam Neureuther embrace their vibrant family life with a smile. The former winter sports stars are now raising four children, enjoying the lively pace of everyday life while also making time for rest and relaxation. Their favourite retreat? The sauna bath – regeneration and mental balance
Regular sauna sessions have been an integral part of Miriam and Felix's lives for many years. They know how important breaks are, especially when it comes to sporting performance. "Regeneration is crucial," explains Felix. "That's why I often did short sauna sessions after a competition to relax my muscles, followed by an ice-cold shower." His wife adds: "Anyone can train. But only those who manage to recover as well as possible will be the fastest." Both particularly appreciate the holistic relaxation offered by the sauna. The pleasant heat not only trains the immune and cardiovascular systems, but also contributes to mental clarity: "Saunas are not only good for the body, but above all for the mind," emphasises Felix. At least twice a week, Miriam and Felix enjoy some time out in their outdoor sauna. Miriam says that she often retreats there in the evening, when the children are already asleep, with a book to relax and recharge her batteries. "If you want to wind down, a sauna is really good," her husband agrees. "There's a lot going on in our lives, not just because of the children." Sometimes, the children join in the sauna session, of course at slightly lower temperatures and for shorter periods than usual. "The children love it," says Felix. “This experience as a family is great.”

Although the couple retired from competitive sport several years ago, exercise still plays an important role in their lives. The Neureuthers spend as much time as possible outdoors in nature, sometimes cycling, sometimes skiing, sometimes hiking with the family. This love of nature is also the reason why they absolutely wanted their own outdoor sauna. "It's so nice to be able to jump into the snow right after the sauna," Miriam explains. They chose the location deliberately, as from inside the sauna you have an unobstructed view of the impressive Alpine panorama.
